Essay Correction

Purpose: Being able to download files to your computer is a great feature of the Internet.  To continue to strengthen your editing skills, you will download a document and use Microsoft Word as a word processor to edit, save, and print the file.

Objective: Students will fix grammar, punctuation, and spelling errors as they add more sentences to the text.  By the end of the exercise, the students should create a well prepared essay that 

demonstrates their abilities to navigate and manipulate several features of Microsoft Word.

Teacher will: demonstrate lesson and give a full explanation of expectations.

Students will: give their attention while teacher explains the purpose and process of the lesson and ask clarifying questions, if necessary.

Procedure:

1. Click here to download the .doc file to your computer.
2. Choose "Save" then rename and save the file on your desktop.
3. Choose "Open File" to begin editing the .doc in Word.
4. Proofread the document and correct any errors you encounter.  
5. For the highlighted text, input your sentences and remove the highlights.
6. Align "Your Name" and "Date" along the right side of the paper.
7. Align the title and author along the center.
8. Before printing, please have an adult double check your work.
9. When you have been cleared, you may print to the "HP Laserjet 5si"
10. When finished, you should submit your assignment via School Loop Mail as an attachment.
